Shakun wanted to cover each of my shots from many different angles. We fought because I couldn’t agree with his way of working on my role. Not a single day has passed that Shakun and I haven’t had a fight. You see, I worked for 30-32 days on this film. In an interview with DNA in 2016, Rishi said: “I didn’t have fun working for Shakun Batra at Kapoor & Sons. Rishi Kapoor’s look in Karan Johar’s “Kapoor and Sons” got everyone watching. Rishi won Filmfare’s Best Supporting Actor award for his work in Kapoor & Sons. The actor’s ace then surprised his fans with this look of a 90-year-old where he was barely recognizable. Rishi Kapoor played the role of Amarjeet Kapoor, the family’s mischievous grandfather. The actor had said that being old school, not a single day on set had gone without a fight with director Shakun, and he even offered to quit the film twice.
